Derek J. Byrne

Mr. Byrne is an associate of the firm's Tampa Bay office and concentrates his practice on the areas of premises liability, transportation negligence, property damage and wrongful death. He is admitted to the Florida Bar and the Florida State Court.

In addition to clerking for various practices in the Tampa Bay area, Derek has participated in the Appellate Judicial Internship Program for the Sixth and Thirteen Circuit Courts, in and for Pinellas County, Florida, under The Honorable David Demers. Through his numerous positions and time spent as a judicial intern, Derek has gained valuable experience in both the civil and criminal arenas, as his spectrum of experience ranges from complex commercial litigation to assisting in the defense of a murder trial. Eventually, however, Derek found his niche in the field of insurance and corporate defense.

In his free time, Mr. Byrne enjoys sailing, boating, and fishing, in addition to volunteering his time in support of the Abilities Foundation of Florida.
