“The only way to do great work is to love what you do”
Chris Calihan was raised in central Massachusetts with his two brothers and even at that time frequently sought out the most challenging endeavors. He was a member of the National Honor Society, played varsity soccer for four years and was selected to be captain. After successfully completing the baccalaureate program as a distinguished military student at Indiana University while also a full time Army ROTC cadet, he was commissioned in the US Army Infantry. Chris served with distinction for ten years as an Airborne Ranger Infantry Officer. He was stationed in Georgia; Quantico, Virginia; SETAF, Italy; and Germany. He completed three tours in the Middle East as a Platoon Leader, Division Operations Planner, and most recently as an Infantry Company Commander. While deployed, he engaged local sheiks in Al Anbar Province, Iraq to build lasting relationships and effectuate security, utilities, schools, and rule of law in nation-building. Among his other decorations, Chris was awarded two Bronze Star Medals, the Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Order of Saint Maurice.
Following his Honorable Discharge, Chris attended the University of Miami School of Law. He interned at the ACLU and Miami Public Defender’s Office before receiving his Juris Doctor cum laude and graduating in the top third of his class. Chris is admitted to the Florida Bar and admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. Chris joined Hightower & Partners and continues to fight hard to provide exemplary service and deliver excellent results to his clients through research, preparation, and attention to detail.
