Ms. Cann has been practicing law in Dade, Broward, and Monroe Counties for several years. She effectively defends major corporations and insured individuals from suits in civil court, on the Circuit, County, and Federal levels, from suits in areas as diverse as premises liability, automobile negligence, products liability, negligent security, subrogation, property damage, contract interpretation, and insurance coverage issues.
She is admitted to the Florida Bar, additionally, she is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Ms. Cann was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. During high school, she was actively involved in mock trial, and played varsity field hockey and soccer. She was also a volunteer for the summer reading program at her local library.
She attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, earning a B.A. in Psychology, cum laude, with a minor in French. During her time at Mizzou, she was actively involved in her sorority, Alpha Phi, serving on the by-laws and nominations committees, among other positions. Ms. Cann also studied abroad in Paris, France during her junior year.
Between College and law school, Ms. Cann lived and worked in Lille, France. As an "assistante d’anglais," she worked for the French government, teaching English to middle-schoolers in a suburb of Lille, one of France’s largest cities, located midway between Paris and Brussels, Belgium.
When she returned from France, Ms. Cann moved to South Florida to attend law school at the University of Miami. During law school, she was a member of the Phi Delta Phi honor society, Miami Law Women, and the Entertainment and Sports Law Society, among other things. Ms. Cann also participated in UM’s Litigation Skills program, going on to win her final trial.
In her spare time, Ms. Cann enjoys going to the beach to soak up the South Florida sun, trying out new restaurants and watering holes around town, reading, and watching movies.
