Valerie P. Prochazka

SENIOR ASSOCIATE/MIAMI

Ms. Prochazka concentrates her practice in the areas of civil litigation including premises liability, products liability, wrongful death, automobile negligence, negligent security, toxic torts, false imprisonment/malicious prosecution, libel/slander/defamation, construction defects, property damage, professional negligence, subrogation and insurance coverage issues.  She is admitted to the Florida Bar and the Florida State Court.

Ms. Prochazka was born in London, and grew up in Denver, Colorado. In high school she played field hockey. She also volunteered at a conservation center dedicated to preserving the Colorado prairie.

Ms. Prochazka attended college at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She was interested in art history and the ancient world. She prepared an honors thesis on Roman art, which she defended with high honors. Ms. Prochazka was also an active member of the Delta Phi Epsilon sorority and served as the Vice President of Operations and the Member at Large. She received a B.A. in classical civilizations in 2006.

Ms. Prochazka attended the University of Miami School of Law. While in law school Ms. Prochazka was a member of the Moot Court Board and served as Senior Notes & Comments Editor for the University of Miami Law Review. She received the book award in her Evidence, Immigration, and Trusts and Estates courses. Ms. Prochazka also worked as a research assistant on art and museum law. She received her J.D. summa cum laude in 2010.

Before coming to work at Hightower, Stratton, Wilhelm, Ms. Prochazka gained valuable legal experience as a summer intern at two litigation firms. She also worked as a certified legal intern for the United States Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement. There she represented the United States government in immigration hearings and conducted extensive research.

Ms. Prochazka lives in Miami Beach. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, travelling, cheering for the Denver Broncos, and spending time at the Miami beaches with her family and friends.
