Mr. Hightower was born in Lakeland, Florida, and lived there until graduating from college. As a youth he attained the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America. And while attending Lakeland High School he was elected Senior Class President.

At Florida Southern College, Mr. Hightower was elected Freshman Class President and Student Government President. Furthermore he was voted into the Greek Hall of Fame and sat on the Board of Trustees of the College.

At Cumberland Law School in Alabama, Mr. Hightower was elected Florida Student Bar President and participated each year in the school's mock trial competitions. Due to his accomplishments and community involvement, the United States Jaycees named him one of the "Outstanding Young Men in America".

During law school Mr. Hightower served briefly as a State Attorney Certified Intern in Ft. Pierce and then entered private practice as a Commercial Litigator upon graduation. Shortly thereafter, he ventured further south to Miami to work as Associate for the defense firm of Wicker, Smith, Blomqvist & Tutan and obtained extensive trial experience.

Mr. Hightower served in numerous capacities in the Dade County Bar Association. He sat on the Board of Directors and served as Public Relations Director of the Dade County Bar. He also hosted the Bar's legal television show "In the Public Interest". Then he joined the law firm of Barnett & Clark, and eventually became one of the most experienced trial attorneys in Miami-Dade County. In just five years he tried over 60 jury trials with excellent results.

Since forming his own firm, Mr. Hightower has been invited to speak at numerous legal seminars on topics ranging from discovery techniques to closing arguments. He was selected as a member of Who's Who Among American’s Business Executives. In 2007, 2008 and 2009, he was also named a “Top Lawyer” in the state of Florida by the South Florida Legal Guide. In 2009, Mr. Hightower was invited by the Advisory Board to become a Fellow member of the Litigation Counsel of America – a trial lawyer honorary society composed of less than one-half of 1% of American Lawyers.

He is an active member of The Transportation Lawyers Association (TLA), The Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA), Florida Trucking Association (FTA), American Trucking Association (ATA), Trucking Law Committee of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), South Florida Claim Association, The State of New York Claim Association, U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, United States Supreme Court and Dade County Bar Association.

Mr. Hightower specializes in, but not limited to, Construction Law, Contracts, Environmental Law, General Negligence, Insurance Defense, Labor and Employment (Workers' Compensation), Premises Liability, Products Liability, Resorts and Leisure (including hotels, restaurants and bars) and Transportation Negligence.

Away from the office Mr. Hightower enjoys the balmy weather in south Florida while sportfishing and scuba diving. Also, he exercises his writing skills by drafting short stories.
