Marcel Castillo was born in Havana, Cuba and immigrated to Miami, Florida, an experience that instilled in him resilience, adaptability, and a strong appreciation for opportunity. His interest in the legal system began early while in high school, when he volunteered as a mock attorney for Miami-Dade’s Teen Court program, helping provide young adults charged with misdemeanors an alternative path focused on accountability and growth.

Marcel earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Florida International University, where he developed a strong foundation in analytical reasoning, logic, and persuasive communication. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law, earning Dean’s List recognition and serving as Treasurer of the Animal Legal Defense Club.

Marcel brings nearly a decade of hands-on legal industry experience, having worked in personal injury law since the age of sixteen, when he began with a local plaintiff’s firm in 2015. This early immersion provided him with a practical understanding of litigation strategy, client advocacy, and case development from the ground up. His background on the plaintiff side allows him to evaluate cases accurately and anticipate litigation dynamics effectively in his role as associate attorney with Hightower & Partners.

Outside the office, Marcel is an avid reader and guitar player. He prioritizes spending quality time with his family.
