Practice Areas

The Transportation & Trucking Practice Group represents clients and their carriers in complex tort and coverage litigation involving all types of common and private carriers. The members of this group include shareholders and associates who have handled cases for large common carrier transportation fleets engaged in interstate trucking, railroads, waste hauling, taxicab, shuttle and bus operators, rental vehicle fleets and ambulance services. These attorneys have represented insurers and self-insureds in personal injury, cargo, environmental, hazardous materials, indemnification, and insurance coverage issues.

Our attorneys appear in all state and federal trial courts in Florida and have experience before each of the various administrative tribunals within the state. We also are experienced in arguing cases in all the state and federal appellate courts, and we have worked with the National Transportation and Safety Board on investigation and determination of loss and injury questions.

While many transportation matters are resolved without trial, Hightower, Stratton, Novigrod & Kantor lawyers are skilled trial lawyers and have an outstanding trial record representing our clients before juries.

Our Firm has an Instant Response Team which is comprised of attorneys in each of our Florida offices, to serve our commercial transportation clients. The attorneys on the Instant Response team are available 24/7. When an accident occurs and is reported to our Instant Response Team, an attorney will come to the scene along with a preferred independent adjuster and/or traffic accident reconstruction expert to capture relevant evidence that is often lost if left to a police report.

With decades of experience defending the country’s largest multi-billion dollar Waste Disposal company, along with renowned commercial trucking entities, we provide aggressive representation to limit company exposure for injuries that may stem from the alleged negligence of a driver.
