Payton was born and raised in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. She moved to Boca Raton, Florida with her family where she graduated from Boca Raton High School. Payton went on to attend Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida and graduated with degrees in Criminal Justice and Political Science.

After graduating from FAU with honors, Payton attended the Shepard Broad College of Law at Nova Southeastern University, where she was a member of the Intellectual Property Law Society and graduated with a concentration in Intellectual Property, Technology and Cybersecurity. Payton then joined the firm and has concentrated her practice in the areas of bodily injury, construction defect, premises liability and workers compensation.

Outside of work, Payton enjoys spending time with her family and friends, golfing, working out, and playing with her rescue dog Archie.
